Road to Paris
From 776AD to 2024, the Olympics have influenced the world. In 1894, Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the Olympic Games we know and love today. In this spirit, the A. G. Leventis Gallery wanted to promote Olympic ideal through culture, in collaboration with the Cyprus Olympic Committee and the Embassy of France in Cyprus, they created the temporary exhibition, ‘Road to Paris’.
This is where the appios® team was appointed to design the exhibition identity. Influenced by the Olympic Rings, the colour scheme, red, yellow, blue, green and black was used throughout the entire exhibition, giving the facts and dates a playful and spirited feel. Further accommodating design process led to the development of wall displays/graphics/murals/information panels/timeline panels and a leaflet which featured the timeline of all recorded Olympic Games.
The leaflet also included major events that shaped the Games, the establishment of the Cyprus Olympic Committee and significant performances and distinctions of Cypriot athletes born before - in which they represented Greece - and after the establishment of the committee.
The exhibition was concluded by a tribute to the Cypriot athletes who represented Cyprus in Paris, thoughtfully closing the exhibition.
“Competition, glory, pride, loss, victory, teamwork, six words that express the Olympics. Six words that also express our temporary exhibition. A timeline of all recorded Olympic Games printed on the wall created a fun, interactive, yet informative experience for viewers to fully appreciate the Tournament.”
