Byzantine Museum

Visitors to the newly revamped Byzantine Museum of the Archbishop Makarios III Foundation in Nicosia are immediately transported on a journey through the past that engages dynamically with the present.

Featuring the richest and most representative collection of Byzantine art on the island, the museum’s updated layout guides visitors through the history of Byzantine art in Cyprus, spanning from the 4th century to the early 19th century.

As part of the revamp, appios® creative studio was responsible for the graphic design and signage of the museum including wall info panels, signage, captions that complement the displays, and produced illustrations that enhance the exhibition content. Additionally, large blow-ups/prints were developed to emphasize thematic sections, outdoor banners were designed for the museum's identity and promotion, and an informational brochure was created for visitors.

The museological study was carried out by Dr. Ioannis A. Eliades, Director of the Byzantine Museum and Art Gallery of the Archbishop Makarios III Foundation, while the exhibition design and supervision were undertaken by Spyros Nasainas.
