Laxies Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

In 2022, appios® creative studio was honoured with a bronze Carob Award for designing and illustrating the packaging of Laxies, a high phenolic organic extra virgin Cyprus olive oil. The design was inspired by the abundance of the natural world and the beauty of ‘Theodoros' Pervoli’ (Theodoros’ orchard) and was awarded for originality, design excellence, timelessness, appropriateness, and functionality.

The product name, ‘Laxies’, derives from the orchard’s gorge-like characteristics. The packaging illustration fittingly captures the beauty of this unique location, the evident love, dedication, and hard work of the man behind the brand, and his passion for organic produce.

The creative and playful design incorporates olive trees, nature, the sun, and a human figure collecting the olives, representing the purity and authenticity of this award-winning produce. ‘Laxies’ is celebrated as one of the best olive oils in the world (ARISTOLEO high phenolic awards 2021-silver award) and praised for its exceptional taste.

The design and identity take as a starting point the abundance of nature and the magnificent orchard where Laxies olives are grown under the warmth of the Cyprus sun, deep in the Maroni countryside.
The fine black illustration against a white background is a nod to the product’s simplicity while adding a striking contemporary flair to the age-old process of olive oil production. The sleek white bottle reflects the purity of the product, and the logo’s hand-drawn typography (‘Laxies’) highlights simplicity and provenance.
